“The Role of Intelligence in Second Language Learning” by Fred Genesee, McGill University

The current research is to determine the suitability of Second language acquisition programmes in the Canadian school system such as immersion or bilingual programmes, among learners of higher and lower intellectual abilities in both primary and secondary levels of education. The main medium of intelligence level evaluation are standardised IQ tests. It is carried out among Anglophone students of 4, 7 and 11 grades of the immersion programme and the regular English programme with French as a second language.
